Part of the assessment process involved my husband filling in forms based on his experiences of living with me. Let me tell you, this was enlightening. I had a lot of protests during this part of the process, accompanied by comments like, “I don’t do that, do I?” and “Is that how you see me?”
You know what I’ve realised about myself lately? I’m absolutely hopeless at coping with plans that are made too far ahead - weekends away, family visits, social do’s, to mention but a few.
Over the last few weeks, a couple of things have come up that’ve made me have one of them “ohhhh, that’s why I do that” moments about my own ADHD. You know the ones - where it all suddenly clicks into place, and you find yourself thinking, crikey, this is more about my brain than I realised.
On a different note to my medication, I feel like I've found a new found confidence in my coaching. As I've learned more about the traits and challenges that I have and as I've recognised the things that I didn't realise were my ADHD, I felt that I've been able to understand those that I'm talking to on a much deeper level because I see those behaviours that we tend to think are quite normal behaviours for everyone.
My blood pressure has finally settled and stayed at a stable level, which is a huge relief. The doctor’s happy with the average readings I’ve been submitting over time, so today I contacted Care ADHD team. I sent them a copy of my doctor’s message and included my most up-to-date blood pressure reading.
